1 lb. hamburger
1 onion, chopped
3-4 potatoes, cubed
3 carrots, chopped
2 celery leaves
2 - 8oz. cans tomato sauce
1 sm. bay leaf
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. basil
4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. rice
1 1/2 qt. water
Brown beef and onion in a big pot. Add rice, water, tomato sauce, spices, and carrots. Simmer for 15 minutes. add chopped potatoes and celery. Simmer for 45 minutes.
